Thank you for your interest in a custom, hand-hewn log home built by the Great Snake River Log Home Company. Each home that we build is unique, one of a kind. As you browse through our site you will see colored type which represents a hyper link to an image that will help you visualize various phases of the log home building process. Our homes are of the finest quality using logs that we select individually for their size, fit, consistency, and beauty.
Each of our homes is a custom project designed to fit the needs, desires and budget of the customer. We can provide cost estimates based on your design, send you some of our sample designs, or work from your ideas to assist in creating a custom design for your home.
Our log homes are completely hand-crafted, and constructed from dry seasoned northwest Spruce, Lodgepole Pine, Tamarack, Douglas Fir or Cedar. Depending on your preference, we use either full scribe or chink style. Our old-world craftsmanship is combined with modern design technology to give you a long-lasting, unique home that truly expresses your personal lifestyle.
Our log packages include log walls, joists, ceiling beams, roof systems (gables and purlins or rafters), and we also can provide log trusses, dormers, staircases and other detailed construction. Included in our contract is on-site supervision of the reassembly of the log structure, and consultation with your local contractor during the finishing of the home.
The price of our log structures ranges from $25 per square foot for a chink style to $35 per square foot for a scribed home, using full- length 12"-16" logs. The cost for a finished log home, including the log package, will be approximately $95 - $125 per square foot, depending on your contractor and the interior materials and fixtures you select.
In addition, we also prepare custom log accents that highlight doors, posts and windows. These accents become natural conversation pieces in every home.
