"This log home is handcrafted in Eastern White Pine. The construction style is “piece sur piece” with locked dovetail corner joints. The logs are further secured with 12” spikes placed every 4 feet and steel bolts used for horizontal log overlaps. The chinking between the logs was accomplished using fiberglass insulation bat, covered by steel mess and then finished with white mortar. The walls are 8 inches thick.

The roof is a 10 piece sandwich, pitched at 12’ X 12” (45 degrees) with 12 inches of insulation, air space and properly placed vapor barriers. The roof exterior is steel, colored dark green.

The house is 48 feet in length and 24 feet at the widest part. The basement walls are 10 inches thick (normally 8) The basement is partly finished with a raised floor and insulated walls and has a walkout door.

The house has 2 bedrooms, a loft (mezzanine), 2 bathrooms, and a pantry. The kitchen and living room are open plan with cathedral ceiling and a central fieldstone fireplace with provision for a woodstove on the kitchen side. The floors are white pine and red pine. French windows in the living room give access to large deck. The house was carefully built and is immensely strong and robust.
